Steven Canvas & the Slackjaw Jezebel

Steven Canvas & the Slackjaw Jezebel is a collaborative music project shaped by years of shared stages and creative collisions. Each song carries the attitude and instincts of musicians Steven Canvas has played with—distilled and reimagined through sound.

The Slackjaw Jezebel is the AI incarnation of those collaborators: idealized versions, subtly altered to protect identity while preserving musical fingerprints. All music is original, beginning as home-studio drafts or full studio sessions, then evolving as stems are reinterpreted in Audime and Suno.

Notorious for rejecting genre and covering their own songs, the project treats no version as definitive. The AI characters are static personas representing the same four to six musicians, evolving with each release. Together, they form a band outside of time—where the past collaborates with the future and no song is ever finished, only transformed.
